We started our Saturday by going to the beach. I believe this was Avila Beach. Perfect weather for some Kan Jam.
Then, we headed out for some sushi and the second best part of the trip was going to Batch. Why isn't there a Batch in the Central Valley!?!? Someone has to make this happen. The best ice cream sandwiches I've ever tasted.
Afterwards, we played board games for hours and hours. It was about 2am when we all looked at each other and said, "maybe, we should sleep". I think we surprised our friends with what big nerds we are with our board games. Haha.
On Sunday, we were on our way to Morro Bay to do some kayaking (Kevin's and mine's first time!). I was super nervous, although I tried not to make it so obvious because our friends are pro's at it. After rowing for about 30 minutes, Kevin and I got the hang of it (we did doubles since there was no way I was going to kayak by myself. I would have floated toward the ocean and buh-bye Ale!). Our friends were super helpful and guided us along the way. I loved feeling the mist of the salty water on my face. Most times I would stop rowing to enjoy the moment and my husband behind me would quickly say, "Baby, why are you stopping, let's go, ROW!" I really wasn't helping though with the high winds and high currents, if I stopped for even 30 seconds, the water would push us further back. We stopped at the nearby shore and took a quick 30 minute walk towards the ocean and snapped some pictures of the beautiful day.
Once we done kayaking, we walked around Morro Bay, ate some late lunch, and snapped more pictures. We are definitely going back to SLO sooner than later. We had such a great time. We want to thank our friends again for the memories and for the hospitality. Kevin and I woke up this morning and our bodies are hating us today.
I took the following picture on our drive back home and it was soothing to me. Soothing because I am blessed to have the man sitting next to me and blessed to have such incredible individuals in our lives. It was also soothing to me because it reminded me of Toy Story and it's exactly what I'll be watching today.
I hope you all had a safe weekend spent with your loved ones.
With love,
Ale
